USA: The Country No. 1 in Crisis Export

A consensus has been reached between Ukraine and the US regarding a ceasefire with Russia. Immediately afterward, the American side made a statement saying, "The rest is up to Putin." I don’t believe that Russia will remain indifferent to these efforts.

Europe had been indifferent to the efforts to grant Russia the right to an "honourable withdrawal" through Turkey's mediation. Trump's bullying has now led to the signing of a ceasefire, leaving Europe with no choice but to observe. Let's consider the implications of the situation:

If Turkey's efforts had been accepted, today the US would not be able to seize Ukraine's natural resources, and Ukrainians would be able to live with dignity.

On the other hand, Russia's economy wouldn't suffer further, the Russian people living in fear of conscription would find relief, and after a while, the country's integration with the world would have been facilitated.

However, in the current situation, the rapprochement between Russia and China will unfold exactly as the Americans desire, and Europeans will constantly be the target of Russia due to the hostility they have shown.

In fact, they have already become such targets. Putin used to aim at NATO; now he is directly targeting Europe.

Trump is starting to centralise everything

It is unlikely that Russia can become a forward base for the US against China, but it can be ensured that Putin will not raise his voice too much against the American bases gradually shifting eastward.

Of course, this will only be valid for a limited time. Trump initiating both a cold war and a trade war against China brings us closer to the conditions experienced before the two World Wars.

Trump is starting to centralise everything by looking at the disordered image of the Biden administration before him

It wouldn't be wrong to say that American politics has been in free fall since Obama. In an article I shared in October 2023, I stated, "...For a long time, we have seen that the US has been diplomatically upside down. The continuous decrease in the number of sane individuals surrounding President Biden, the incompetence of Vice President Harris, and the resignation of the President's man Menendez due to a bribery scandal have created a deep void in American politics. Of course, every political void is filled by more disciplined entities. And so it has happened. Now, US politics is managed by soldiers, bureaucrats, and lobbyists. This situation alone describes a disaster...."

I understand that Trump is starting to centralise everything by looking at the disordered image of the Biden administration before him. However, looking at those who advise him and the names in his cabinet, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that we are waiting for the same level of inexperience and scandals that characterised the Biden era.

Mitch McConnell’s consistent stance

An important figure of the Republicans, Mitch McConnell, says in his book "The Long Game," where he narrates his political life: "Sometimes you need to listen to the voters, and sometimes you need to lead them. The right politics is just about getting the timing right..."

McConnell has never considered becoming the president of the United States. He explains this at length in his book. As a child, he struggled against polio. He was elected from Kentucky, a state where Republicans barely managed to get a senator, making him a seasoned politician.

When will the Republican Party realise the enormous trouble it has caused in the world?

He is known for his calm and constructive style. He is noted for his commitment to the Constitution. His wife is of Southeast Asian origin and served as Secretary of Transportation during the Bush era.

So, McConnell is not ultra-nationalist and definitely not an Evangelist. He has both supporters and detractors. But most importantly, he has a consistent stance.

When will the Republican Party, or what is known as "GOP" in the US, realise the enormous trouble it has caused in the world?

The US became the strongest country in the world thanks to immigrants

I am unable to evaluate the potential impact of the strategies Trump has presented or will present on China's leadership in manufacturing and the 61% majority of AI patents.

However, as long as the US continues without acknowledging the power of immigrants behind American technology, it will continue to lag behind.

It will be seen in history how correct it is to isolate a country that showcases the finest examples of rights and freedoms, democracy, art, music, popular culture, science, and sports - Emre Alkin

I suspect that those around Trump have not told him that the US is an important assurance for the "free world". Perhaps he is not familiar with the oath Thomas Jefferson took when he was elected president in 1800: "Whoever stands before the intelligence of man as a tyrant will be eternally an enemy of this country."

It will be seen in history how correct it is to isolate a country that showcases the finest examples of rights and freedoms, democracy, art, music, popular culture, science, and sports.

It should not be forgotten that the US became the strongest country in the world thanks to immigrants like Steve Jobs. By not closing its doors, it progressed in technology and science.

It rose not only through Cowboy music but also through a blend of African, Latin American, Arab, Turkish, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, and European cultures.

If it was able to reach the Moon, it succeeded with the help of European scientists. In sports, success is generally achieved by athletes of African descent. In technology, starting with Serbian-born Tesla, there are many other remarkable examples. Ahmet Ertegün, the founder of Atlantic Records, is another excellent example.

As I mentioned when he was first elected, Trump could be one of the most serious disasters that has befallen not only the US but the world. The fact that such a person has been re-elected to the presidency indicates that a serious analysis of the American political system is necessary.
